About Dr. Anne James
Dr. Anne James is the founder of Blanco Crossing Veterinary Hospital, established in 2002 with a mission to provide exceptional medical care and personalized service. Originally from El Paso, Texas Dr. James developed a lifelong passion for animal care while spending summers working with horses and cattle on her family’s Alabama ranch.
She earned her Bachelor’s in Animal Science from Texas Tech University before receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1989. With over 30 years of experience, including 12 years at Acres North Animal Hospital, Dr. James especially enjoys general practice, soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. Outside the clinic, she is a proud mother of two Aggie graduates, Byrne and Megan. She recently celebrated her marriage to Dr. Jimmy Dietz during a trip in 2024 to Ireland! When she isn’t caring for her patients, you can find her cheering on the Aggies with Dr. Jimmy, and spending time with her two children, Byrne and Megan. For Dr. James, veterinary medicine isn’t just a career – it’s a way to honor the bond between animals and the families who love them.
Continuing this commitment into 2026, Dr. James is proud to welcome Dr. Cody Kotara to the team. A fellow Texas A&M Aggie and 2026 graduate of the college of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Kotara joins the practice under Dr. James’s mentorship. She looks forward to sharing her 30+ years of expertise to help shape the next generation of veterinary care for the Blanco Crossing Family.
